Die Anden sind nun endlich schneebedeckt und alle Schigebiet in den Anden der Region des Bio Bio haben geöffnet.  HelloChile besuchte das Skigebiet Nevados de Chillán an einem eisigen Freitag- und kann nun die folgenden Informationen veröffentlichen:

1.) Preis Tageskarte:  CLP 30.000.-  (Freitagsangebot: Zwei Tickets für den Preis von einem) – Mehr Infos gibt´s   HIER!

2.) Preis Halbtageskarte, erhältlich ab 12:45 Uhr:  CLP 20.000.-

3.) Zirka 50% der Schlifte sind offen, es könnte am Wochenende zu Wartezeiten am Lift kommen. Nur ein Sessellift offen (Otto), der Wintersportler zu den oberen (und am schönsten gelegenen) Pisten bringt.

4.) Ski Verleih offen im Schigebiet, aber relativ teuer. Leihen Sie Ihre Ausrüstung besser im Ort Las Trancas, etwa fünf Kilometer vor dem Schigebiet gelegen.

5.) Nehmen Sie warme Kleidung mit, es kann sehr kalt werden – Achtung in den Schattenzonen auf den Pisten, diese können sehr eisig sein!

6.) Es sind Pisten für alle Schwierigkeitsstufen befahrbar, Chile längste Piste “Las Tres Marias” ist jedoch geschlossen.

7.) Schneemobile und Cat skiing kann man auf Anfrage bekommen.

8.) Der Weg in die Anden kann mit Schnee und Eis bedeckt sein, daher ist ein Gleändewagen mit Ketten ratsam. Sie können Mietwagen HIER bekommen.

The Andes are now covered by snow and all skiing ressorts are open. HelloChile visited the Nevados de Chillán snowboard and skiing ressort on a chilly Friday – and got useful information:

1.) 1 – day ticket price: CLP 30.000.-  (Friday offer: Get two tickets for the price of one) – Find more information HERE!

2.) 1/2 ticket available as of 12:45 – price: CLP 20.000.-

3.) Around 50% of the lifts open, could become overcrowded on weekends. Only one chair lift available for bringing you to the upper (and most beautiful) slopes.

4.) Ski rental open in the ressort, but pricy. Rent your skis in Las Trancas, about 5 km before getting to the skiing ressort.

5.) Bring warm clothes, it can get very chilly – take care in the shadow areas, the slopes might become icy!

6.) Slopes of all difficulties open, but The Las Tres Marias slope, Chile´s longest one,  closed.

7.) Snow mobile rental and cat skiing available on demand.

8.) The road to the Andes might sometimes be icy,  a jeep or 4WD pick- up with chains is recommended. Rent a car, jeep or pick-up HERE!

Rain in Concepción brings snow to the Cordillera de Los Andes.

There are two skiing ressorts in the BioBio Region, Nevados de Chillán, near Concepción, and Antuco, on the volcano with the same name, near Los Angeles. Nevados de Chillán counts on around half a dozen lifts, Antuco has about three to four T-bars.

It is said the Andes of the Bio Bio Region receive the best powder snow on the southern hemisphere.

To get to Nevados de Chillán skiing ressort, starting from Concepción, just take the Autopista del Itata, then pass through Chillán and head to Las Trancas, a village only five kilometers before the skiing ressort. Be sure you have chains or, at least, a four wheel drive as these five kilometers might be icy.

Skiing is expensive in Chile, but you can get it cheaper. If you get there on Fridays, you get two tickets for one at Nevados de Chillán if you dial *110*292# on your ENTEL mobile phone and show the incoming message at the entrance. Get also 10% discount on tickets from Monday through Thursday and 15% discount on ski rental, following the same method. Helicopter skiing is available on demand.

HelloChile recommends to stay overnight there. As the hotels are extremely expensive, we can organize you a nice, cosy appartment in Nevados de Chillán. Another alternative is to stay in Las Trancas.
